Senior design project – ALCHE 2019 design project

01/2019 – 03/2019
  • Designed and simulated a pharmaceutical plant in MATLAB to produce antibody medication to meet target market demand. Utilized a series of coupled ordinary differential rate equations to simulate the growth kinetics of recombinant E. Coli.

  • Programmed in design parameters that allowed forecasting to meet future critical production levels with design considerations as well as ensuring adherence to OSHA standards and cGMPgit git regulations

  • Predicted economic metrics and internal consistencies to maintain effective design to ensure cost effectiveness

  • Designed a method for the capture and neutralization of hazardous waste gas byproduct hydrogen sulfide, as well as the treatment of the biologically active wastewater produced

Biofuel production project

  • Utilized a process simulation package (Aspen Plus) to design a system of distillation columns to isolate and purify isoamyl alcohol (to 99% purity) and ethanol (to 92% purity) from a mixed alcohol feed, while meeting purity standards for commercial sale

  • Used computer simulation tools to develop a model of the system to match real-world conditions. Used this system to analyze many configurations of feed and outlet staging to optimize product purity and recovery

  • Collaborated with a team of five, while organizing meetings and tasks to deliver technical results and detailed data reports. Presented solutions and recommendations in design review to a panel of professors

Personal Projects

CONCERT-LOCATION-AND-ALERT

A program that tracks local concerts for user selected artists. Concert data is gathered through web scraping from Songkick. Features Spotify integration through a modified version of spotipy, optional startup configuration, and a simple GUI made with tkinter .

Smart Job Classifier

A program that downloads, formats and sorts job postings into four categories using Linear Support Vector Classification from scikit-learn based on user supplied samples of each with ~60% accuracy.

Robots Playing Chess

Object-oriented chess implementation built in part for testing how various goal-seeking strategies work against each other. Current best AI utilizes a multiprocessing/threading enabled implementation of a MinMax algorithm with alpha-beta pruning.
